Frequently Asked Questions
What distance should you be able to read a vehicle number plate from?
You MUST be able to read a vehicle number plate, in good daylight, from a distance of 20 metres (66 feet) or (20.5 where the old style number plate is used.) If you need to wear glasses (or contact lenses) to do this, you MUST wear them at all times while driving.

Do I need my provisional license before I can take driving lessons?
Yes, you need to be in possession of a signed provisional driving license.
What will I do on my first driving lesson?
Your first lesson will be a minimum of an hour although we recommend two hours, this is so you become familiar with the car and all the controls, also so you can actually get to do some moving off and stopping. The instructor will ask to see your license and check your eye sight by asking you to read a vehicle number plate.
